What is Domain Name Registration
and How Do I Register a Domain Name?
A Domain Name is an address, such as www.aksi.net,
that people use to go to your website. Think of a
domain name as a unique address, like the street
address of your home or business. When you register
a domain name, you or your company are registered
as the owner of this name. In addition, this name
is associated with a specific host computer address
that is located at your Internet Service Provider
(This can always be transferred to another service
provider later). Before you can register a domain
name you must first make sure it is available. Click
here to search.
We can process your domain name registration for
you, without charge. In addition, when you register
through us, we will give you an attractive "coming
soon" or "under construction" page.
To register your domain name click
here.
Note: that Network Solutions, the official registrar
of all domain names that end in .com, .net or .org
charges $70 for maintaining each domain name for
two years. They will bill you directly for this service.

What
is a Database Driven Website?
A database driven site means that webpages are created
on the fly from information stored inside a database.
This is very good for large websites with a lot of
information. In addition, webpages can be created
based on requests from the visitor to your site.
For example, a bookstore like amazon.com does not
have millions of pre-built webpages. This would be
impossible to maintain. Instead, they create a webpage
by filling a "template" with information
that is stored in a massive information database.
We support MySQL database. Why? Because it is one
of the highest performance databases for use on the
Internet In benchmark tests, it compares very favorably
to Oracle, and out performs SQL Server (Microsoft),
Informix and Sybase.

What is the Difference Between Static
Pages and Dynamic Pages?
Regular webpages that consist of HTML files and images
(JPG or GIF files) are known as static pages.
Dynamic pages are pages that change according to
use input. For example, lets say you sell cars. A
webpage that simply shows a photo of a car is static.
A webpage that, on-the-fly changes the color of the
car, adds accessories such as mag wheels, sun roofs
and pin stripes based on customer choices would be
dynamic.
Dynamic pages created by using programs or scripts
on either your customer's computer or on our web
sever. A script that runs locally on the customer's
computer is known as client side scripts. A script
or program that runs on a server is known as server
side scripts.
Server side programs are hidden from the user. This
is very important if you don't want your script or
program copied or stolen or if it processes sensitive
or secure information (credit card processing). In
addition, server side scripts can create completely
new webpages on the fly from databases or from other
files based on customer inputs. For example, a server
side script could process a customer information
form by creating a new custom webpage based on the
customer's response, automatically send the customer
an e-mail with the information they requested, and
record this in a database, or send you an e-mail
noting the time, data and customer information, so
you could contact then, if they requested this. Server
Side scripts are typically written in PERL, PHP3,
or C.
Client Side scripts, on the other hand, have the
advantage of being very fast because they run on
your visitor's own computer. Client side scripts
are usually embedded into webpages in the form of
javascript, DHTML or downloaded small program known
as a java "applet"

What
is a Secure Server?
A secure server is a computer that is protected from
general access. Data is isolated, and transfers to
and from this computer on to the Internet are protected
and encrypted. All important protected data, such
as transaction information, customer information
or a passwords need to be stored on a secure server.
Credit Card Processing must be encrypted and processed
on a secure server. Your web browser has standard
encryption technology built in known as SSL or Secure
Socket Layer. When a secure server is accessed data
is sent to and from the server in a coded or encrypted
