  1. How do I get setup for Internet access (dial-up access) ?

    The easiest way is to use our setup CD. You can obtain the CD by clicking here. You can also setup your account in Windows by using the Internet Setup Wizard inside Windows 95 or 98. Click Here for step by step Windows 98 Setup.

  2. How do I put my website on the Internet?

    Most website design programs give you some method of transferring your files using file transfer protocol or FTP. Alternatively, you can use stand alone FTP programs (shareware or freeware).

    Either way, you will need to know the following information:

    host name/
    FTP address:
    This will be assigned to you when you sign-up for a web-hosting account. If you are creating a free personal site that comes with an Internet Access Account, the address is home.aksi.net or users.aksi.net.
    host type name: UNIX (standard)
    user name: Use the user name that has been assigned to your web-hosting account.If you are creating a free personal site that comes with an Internet Access Account, the user name is the same as your Internet Access Account user name.
    password: Use the password that has been assigned to your web-hosting account.If you are creating a free personal site that comes with an Internet Access Account, the password is the same as your Internet Access Account password.
    top directory / (or leave it blank)


  3. How do I setup my e-mail ?

    You can access your e-mail through your browser by using our on-line e-mail access as soon as your account is activated. There is nothing to setup. You can access your e-mail on-line by clicking on the e-mail link at the bottom of every page of our site or from the "get e-mail" link on the personal account home page.

    If you wish to use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, click here for a Step by Step Windows 98 Account Setup Guide. If you wish to use Netscape Mail (inside Netscape Communicator) click here for a step by step guide.

  4. How do I change my user-name or password ?

    You can change your account information through our client services area. Alternatively, you can request a password change by e-mail. For your protection, you must provide username and old password when making this request.

  5. Does Acquired Knowledge Systems have a setup CD?

  7. What name do I give my home page?

    Name your homepage index.htm or index.html

  8. Why when try to go to my website I get a directory instead of my home page?

    This happens when you don't have an index.htm or index.html page. Name the home page of your website index.htm or index.html .
